Delmont, SD
In Delmont, SD, the NO PLACE Steakhouse, on main street, has it all. It
is your wonderful small town bar
and restaurant. They serve a varied menu that includes steaks, chicken fingers,
homemade soups, sandwiches and salads. You can also order homemade pizzas.
The atmosphere in the No Place is what makes it special. The owner, Jean Cantrell, is very friendly and welcoming. The patrons are mostly local folks.
Jean moved to Tyndell from Maryland three years ago. She and her husband Glenn are supposed to be in semi-retirement, but you can't tell from the hours she puts in at the No Place Steakhouse. Jean has worked in a number of resturants before but this is her first solo adventure. I think she is doing a great job. Jean is a generous person, with the help of donations from locals, she fed 45 people last Thanksgiving. Jean is just the type of person that every small town needs.
I must admit that I spent as much time playing .25 pool as I did eating. It's easy to spend hours there, playing and talking about local events.
They also offer video lottery
and electronic darts, a juke box and other games. Jean occasionally offers
live music and at other times, she offers karoke. I got up one night when
I was there and really had a great time.
The No Place Steakhouse offers a banquet room that seats 45 people.
